Celebrating Women in Engineering Day at Autac

Today we are celebrating the women across Autac who play an important role in the work we do, bringing their skills, experience and dedication to our teams every day.

To mark the occasion, we are sharing the stories of Marion and Jane, who are part of our factory team and help bring our products to life.

Between them, Marion and Jane have 42 years of experience at Autac, with Jane celebrating an incredible 39 years with us and Marion reaching 3 years as part of the team.

What got you into engineering / manufacturing

Marion: “I was looking for a job local to me. I came in and thought I’d try something new.”

Jane: “I wanted a new job! I kept ringing up to see if there were any vacancies and one day I got a call back and took the job straight away!”

Marion: Fast-paced. Productive. Efficient.
Jane: Interesting. Driven. Pride.

What are you most proud of

Marion: “I’m proud of what I do and enjoy working within the Autac team. I came into the job without any experience in a role like this, and I’ve proved that I can learn new skills and that anything is possible. I’m proud of the products we make, and I love knowing they are sold around the world.”

Jane: “I take pride in the work I do and how it contributes to the business. Knowing the importance of our products motivates me to take care and ensure every product is made to the highest standard possible. I’m proud of the work I do and the part I play in helping the team deliver high-quality products.”
