Autac’s David Lowe raises over £33,000 in total for Prevent Breast Cancer

Autac is proud to announce that Managing Director David Lowe has raised £8,150 for Prevent Breast Cancer through his latest fundraising challenge in September, which saw him climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. This remarkable achievement brings David’s total fundraising efforts for the charity to more than £33,000.

The cause holds a deeply personal significance for David and his family. In 2013, David and his wife Sallie Lowe, Finance Director at Autac, sadly lost Julie, Sallie’s sister, to breast cancer. Since that time, David has been dedicated to supporting Prevent Breast Cancer, the only UK charity entirely focused on the prediction and prevention of the disease.

Over the past decade, David has undertaken a series of extraordinary challenges, from crossing part of the Sahara Desert to trekking to Everest base camp – in memory of Julie and in support of vital research. Funds raised support the charity’s pioneering work aimed at stopping breast cancer before it starts

His most recent challenge, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, took six days to complete and was undertaken alongside a fantastic team that included Sally Dynevor, television actress and Prevent Breast Cancer Patron, and her son. The trek tested the group both mentally and physically, culminating in an incredible moment as they reached the summit together.

Commenting on his fundraising efforts, David said:

“Prevent Breast Cancer is an incredible charity doing vital work to stop this disease before it starts. This cause means so much to me and my family and I’m very grateful for everyone’s support along the way.”

Autac is immensely proud of David’s dedication and the positive impact his efforts continue to make. His commitment is an inspiration to colleagues, the community and everyone who supports Prevent Breast Cancer’s mission.

David would also like to thank everyone who has supported him throughout his fundraising journey; from those who donated and shared his JustGiving page, to the many friends, family and colleagues who have cheered him along the way.
