New EU Trading Arrangements and Covid-19 update

Following the UK Government’s guidance (issued 4th January 2021), to stay at home in order to help contain the COVID-19 outbreak, I wanted to provide our own update on operations at Autac.

I am happy to confirm that, as was the case during the first two national lockdowns, Autac’s operations continue to be classed as “essential” business, due to our important role in supporting our customers to fulfil their critical roles within the transport, commercial vehicle, military, security and energy sectors.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been successful in minimising the disruption to business and our supply chain from suppliers both within and outside of the EU. There have been some challenges but we’ve worked hard to mitigate the risks. The third lockdown is no different.

In part, this is due to the robust supplier agreements we have always had in place as a business, which we will count on even more now that the transition period for leaving the EU has ended. The new EU trading agreements are ones we have been preparing for over a number of years. As such, you can rest assured that we have all necessary paperwork and arrangements in place to ensure that our cables continue to be manufactured and delivered according to agreed schedules.

Alongside our commitment to providing exceptional customer service is our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff. For almost a year, we have been operating to strict Covid-19 procedures throughout our factories and offices, including installing sanitising points throughout, and splitting shifts to allow optimum social distancing.

We will continue to follow Government advice as the situation develops and will keep you updated on any changes.
