We’re delighted to announce that the end of February marks the sixth anniversary of our husband-and-wife team David and Sallie Lowe taking over the business. The 2016 investment ensured that Autac could continue its course as a third generation family business, and take forward the values on which, in 1964, the original business was built – namely innovation, customer service and quality.

There’s been some particularly important milestones over the last six years, starting with our rebrand and the launch of our new Marketing strategy. We decided to re-structure the business into three key areas: Cable Products; Cable Assemblies; and EV. We consulted with the Autac team and, with the support of our marketing communications partner Lucy Rennie, established six brand values: Efficiency; Consistency; Be the Best; Teamwork; Professionalism; and Honesty and four key pillars: Quality, Solutions Driven, Innovation and Customer Service.

Our rebrand extended across our new website, product catalogues, marketing materials, social media campaigns and internally throughout our factory. In the same year, we invested in a new External Sales Manager, Gary Wood to help fulfil our ambitions to grow at pace.

We’ve continued to build our UK and mainland European network of customers, from hazardous area industries to the automotive sector, heavy lifting gear manufacturing and radar, monitoring and safety systems.

In 2021, we launched our Official Parts Supplier programme. Our first collaboration is with Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV), who have been appointed as the sole distributor of Autac EV cables.

We’ve continued to put our weight behind ISO’s working group on connecting cables for towed and towing vehicles. Our Technical Director, Simon Pearce, is convenor of the group and represents Autac to help inform future industrial standards in our industry.

Our MD has raised funds for the charity Prevent Breast Cancer through a trek to Everest Base Camp in 2018. He’ll be taking on an equally gruelling challenge this November when he undertakes the Sahara Trek 2022 to raise funds for East Cheshire Hospice.


Last but by no means least, we’ve looked after the Autac team. We’ve done that by giving all the platform to be heard and be part of a small, friendly and fun team. We’re also establishing the company structures and policies that we will rely upon as the business continues with its fast-accelerating growth. This includes rolling out our new Employee Assistance Programme with Legal and General, helping our staff with events and issues affecting their everyday lives.

Our team are happy and work well together. That means our products are delivered on time and at the quality our customers expect and deserve. Happy customers mean more orders, and in turn, more business and more growth opportunities for our staff. It’s the perfect circle of collaborative support and success that our business has been doing so well, for so long.

Our ever-growing team and factory space will help us to step up another gear in ‘helping you to succeed’; a strapline which we introduced as part of our re-brand and which ensures our customer-focused approach sits firmly at the core of all we do. Whether it’s the next six years or six decades, we remain at your service.
